Code of Behaviour

All our members agree to follow our Code of Behaviour


1.General Principles

1.1 This code of behavior governs the conduct of members of the fighting art Keluarga Silat Perisai Diri Australia (also referred to as “the art”)

1.2 Follow the principles of Keluarga, translated means family. To clarify, the family principles valued are those of respecting one’s seniors while putting         the importance of the group above oneself, acceptance of authority and guidance, avoidance of conflict with an attention to fostering harmony,             through mutual support and the sharing of burdens.
     This idea should be seen to be an overarching principle guiding and governing member conduct as well as the reading of this code
1.3 The code of behavior should also be guided by the spirit of the Articles of Association Keluarga Silat Nasional Indonesia Perisai Diri, the By-laws of              Keluarga Silat Perisai Diri Indonesia and the Incorporated Association Act 1981 (QLD)

1.4 Report any beaches of the Code of Behavior or concerns about other members or classes to the Perisai Diri Australia Sporting Association using the        Code of Behavior Incident Report. All reports are strictly confidential and will be delt with accordingly.

2. Safety and Health of Participants
2.1 Place the safety and welfare of the participants above all else
2.2  Operate within the principles of Asah, Asih, Asuh
      Asah: to sharpen something blunt (such as knife and sword)
      Asah in Silat PD means regular dedicated actions by practitioner for self and others to become persons of better state.
      Asih: Love in context of giving the most to help and to care for.
      Ashi in Silat PD means(i). to involve love and wisdom when interacting with others. (ii) giving the most to others (safety,
      support and motivation) with the aim to build up Silat skills together and to strengthen the unity as a family.
      Asuh: to take care of, to rear, to raise, to bring up, to guide: to provide for.
      Asuh in Silat PD means: to take care of each other: to help each other: with sincerity, to improve silat skills together, as one
      family of Perisai Diri.
3. Honour the art
3.1 Act within the rules and spirit of the Code of Behavior and Articles of Association Keluarga Silat Nasional Indonesia.

3.2 Promote fair play over winning at any cost.
3.3 Respect the decisions of officials, coaches and administrators.
3.4  Show respect and courtesy to all involved with in the sport.
3.5  Display responsible behavior in relation to alcohol and other drugs.


4. integrity
4.1  Act with integrity and objectivity and accept responsibility for your decisions and actions.
4.2 Ensure your decision and actions contribute to a harassment-free environment.
4.3 Wherever practical, avoid unaccompanied and unobserved one-on-one activity (when in a supervisory capacity or where a
      power imbalance exists) with people under the age of 18.
4.4  Be honest and do not allow your qualifications or coaching experience to be misrepresented.
4.5 Never advocate or condone the use of illicit drugs or other banned performance enhancing substances or methods.
4.6  Never participate in or advocate the practices that involve match fixing or gambling in the context of the art.
4.7 Never engage in any conduct or spread information about members or classes which defames or could reasonable be interpreted to defame                another member or class regardless of the truth of the matter.


5. RESPECT
5.1 Respect the rights and worth of every person, regardless of their age, race, gender, ability, cultural background, sexuality or religion.
5.2  Do not tolerate abusive, bulling or threating behavior.
5.3 Respect the decision or guidance from Pengurus Pusat, Peridium Dewan Pendekar, Komisariat Australia, Instructors and senior levels of

      Silat Perisai Diri.


6.Report

      Should you feel that any member of Silat Perisai Diri has breached the Code of Behaviour, please reach out through the Member's App or contact             email and rest assured all correspondence will be treat with the utmost privacy.
